Taiwan
From Wikiasiantravel
| Ni hao! What is commonly known as Taiwan is actually the Republic of China or ROC which encompasses the island of Taiwan(Formosa) and nearby smaller islands. Although territories and political issues with the mainland China are not quite resolve, it does not hinder the country from boosting its economy, preserving its cultural heritage and opening its land to throngs of tourists. A visit to enjoy the city life is just as good as the eco-tourism. |

Taiwan's railway system has a vast coverage in the island but the rest of the Republic of China has none. Its introduction started as early as 1891, during the Qing Dynasty. Three types of railway now exists to service the citizens and tourists. Buses Although there are some available, the best way still to go around the country is by train for long distances and cabs for shorter distance. Signs on the road are not much and can be confusing. Buses for hotel-airport transport can be more convenient though than taking trains and much cheaper than having a cab.
