The only international Airport of the country is the Bandaranaike International Airport, about 22 kms north of the commercial capital, Colombo. Various accidents have occurred related to bombs and some violence because of terrorists and rebels. Although the airport is civilian, the Sri Lanka Airforce is beside it, thus the greater risk and need for caution.

Aside from Bandarakanaike Airport, Sri lanka has eleven other paved airport. SriLankan Air Taxi is the domestic flight handler of SriLankan Airlines, the official national carrier. Two other private airline companies, Lankair and Expo Aviation provide domestic flight services too.
Aside from the four major ports, Sri Lanka has about 430 inland waterways.
