Forbidden City in Beijing, China

A former Imperial city in which nobody was allowed to enter or leave unless permitted by the emperor, thus was known as Forbidden. It is a walled city of 720,000 sq.meters, with several palaces and four towers in its corners. One could appreciate the details made from the intricate roof of the palaces to its paved floor. Additionally, one should also look outside the wall. There are various parks and gardens around the walled city. The Tiananmen Square which serves as an entrance to the city is a rightful tourist attraction already.


Open Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 4 pm daily

Fees: admission is about 30-50 RMB

Getting there It is usually a walking distance from many hotels. Mode of transportation for those lodged far would be a taxi.
