Local Thai Cuisine
The Thai Cuisine has been influenced by its neighboring countries though it still keeps its individuality when it comes to the flavor of dishes. Like some of the other Asian countries, a typical meal may consist of rice and viand. Many Thai dishes make use of spices for adding aroma, spicy food are also common. Nam pla, a strong flavored fish sauce, is a usual ingredient in many dishes.

Main Dishes
- Gai Pad Khing - a dish that consists of fried chicken meat, vegetables and importantly, sliced ginger. It is usually eaten with rice.
- Gai Yang - grilled chicken cooked in a particular manner and usually served with rice.
- Gkai Pad Gkaprow - a stir-fried chicken dish with basil, often served with rice and topped with fried egg. The chicken could also be substituted with other meat or seafood.
- Kai Pu Khao - a chicken dish also known as Volcano Chicken. It has this name because when the chicken is placed vertically on a plate and ignited, it resembles a volcano.
- Khao Khluk Kapi - rice stir fried with shrimp paste and served with a helping of meat, garnishes and other toppings.
- Khao Pad - Thai style fried rice. It is usually made with meat, egg, tomatoes and spices. There are also other versions that vary through the use of crab, vegetables or pineapple.
- Larb - Thai meat salad. The minced meat could either be cooked or raw and mixed with vegetables.
- Neua Pad Prik - a stir-fried dish made with beef cooked with chili and spices.
- Pad Phak Ruam - a vegetarian dish consisting of stir-fried vegetables. Vegetables that are in season are usually the preferred ingredients.
- Phat Kaphrao - meat stir-fried with basil leaves. Chicken is usually preferred but beef and pork are uncommon.
- Som Tam - spicy green papaya salad. Some common ingredients are fish sauce, palm sugar, lime, garlic, dried shrimp and chili.
- Tod Man Pla - fried fish cakes often with a spicy taste. It is served with a sweet and spicy sauce with cucumber.

Noodles
- Guay Tiaw Ruer - spicy noodles with meat and spices.
- Khao Soi - a popular street dish with egg noodles and vegetables.
- Pad Kee Mao - stir-fried noodles made with broad rice noodles, soy sauce, garlic, meat, bean sprouts and seasonings. It is also given a spicy taste. It is also known as Drunken noodles.
- Pad See Ew - stir-fried noodles cooked with soy sauce. It is usually made with pork or chicken, Chinese broccoli and other vegetables.
- Pad Thai - stir-fried rice noodles. The dish is also made up of eggs, fish sauce, tamarind juice and spices. Bean sprouts, shrimp, chicken or tofu may also be added.
- Rad Na - stir-fried rice noodles with meat, garlic, mushroom and Chinese broccoli. The dish is covered in gravy.

Soups and Stews
- Green Curry - a curry-dish variant of Thailand named after its color. It is often served spicy.
- Khao Tom - a rice soup with spices and usually added with pork. There are other variations that use use shrimp or squid instead of pork. This dish is ideal for breakfast.
- Massaman Curry - a Muslim dish in Thailand made with beef or chicken and served with rice. It usually uses coconut milk and contains potatoes and peanuts.
- Panang Beef - a beef and curry-based dish cooked with coconut milk and vegetables of choice.
- Red Curry - a Thai dish made using red curry paste and coconut milk. It consists of a variety of vegetables and meat, usually topped with basil leaves.
- Tom Kha Gai - a sweet soup made from coconut milk, lemon grass and chicken with a spicy taste to it.
- Tom Yum - Thai soup with hot and sour flavors. It is usually made with prawns, chicken, fish or mixed seafood and mushrooms.

Desserts
- Fug Tong Gang Buad - pumpkin cooked in coconut milk with sugar.
- Kluai Buat Chi - bananas in coconut milk.
