- Beijing Olympics 2008 Updates
With the date of the 2008 World Olympics coming close, several attractions in Hong Kong have been set up for tourists. Below are some things to check on:
Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui - shows live telecast of Olympic events and has a variety of Olympic themed activities
Victoria Harbor- Hong Kong Museum of Art in TST with giant Olympic rings lighted from 6 p.m. - midnight.
Victoria Park and Sha Tin Park - has Olympic Live Sites
- Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix Sells Out 82% of Tickets
Tickets for the Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix has been launched last February 14, 2008 and had since then sold out 82% with still some good seats available.
The Formula 1 Grand Prix will take place on a street circuit of public roads around the Marina Bay area. It is the first Formula One race to be held at night and the first street race in Asia.
Check the official website, www.singaporegp.sg , call the ticket sales hotline (+65 6738 6738) or visit the OmniTicket counters around the island to purchase your tickets.

- International Concerts to be Held in the Philippines
Despite the unpredictable and often uncooperative weather due to monsoon season in the next few months, several international concerts will be held in the Philippines. Below is a listing of a few and their venues:
- July 26 :: Lifehouse - Araneta Coliseum, Manila, Philippines
- August 5 :: Alicia Keys - Big Dome, Manila, Philippines
- August 14 :: Panic at the Disco, Manila, Philippines

- Moonsoon Causes Code Red Situation in India
The moonsoon rains in India has been wrecking havoc over several cities. 42 people have died, 7 of whom are from Hyderabad, whose houses collapsed on them. The three rivers, Savitri, Arjuna, and Vashisht have overflowed adding to the floods in Maharashtra. The rail service in Pune-Mumbai have been severely affected and had been temporarily shut. Currently, 119 relief camps have been set up to provide temporary shelters and reliefs to the citizens.
Accidents and Incidents
- 16 Policemen Died as Rioters Attacked in China
Kashgar City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China-
Two rioters drove up a dump track and threw explosives unto jogging policemen. Sixteen policemen died and 16 others were injured. The attackers were believed to be from Uyghur ethnic group and the incident was part of the terroristic acts of the Eastern Turkistan separatists.
Despite the incident adding to the clouds of doubt on the safety and security that looms, the opening of the Beijing 2008 Olympics is not affected.
