Andong, South Korea

The largest city for the northern part of Gyeongsang Province of South Korea. It is tagged as the capital of mental culture with a history aging more than 2000. Aside from the cultural heritage, Andong's is also blessed with natural beauty of mountains. The express highways have also helped in easing transportation links with Busan and Seoul.

- Andong Dam - construction dating back to 1976. It is 612 meters long and 83 meters high. The lake has become a picnic area and fishing grounds.
- Pongjong-sa Temple - the oldest wooden building in Korea dating back to 7th century
- Shinsae-dong 7-story Pagoda - the oldest and tallest brick pagoda that was built during Shilla Dynasty.
- Tosanseowon - Confucian Academy whose establishment dates back to 1574.

Andong Market - for souvenirs of hemp cloth and masks. It is open only on days ending with 2 or 7 such as 2nd, 7th, 12th ..etc.

Andong Park Hotel - used to be the only western style hotel in town as most have only mats on floor.
Hotel California - offers western style accommodation(w/bed) and also the Korean style of mats. Address is at 103-3, Samsan-dong, Andong.
Bando Hotel a yeogan or the typical Korean style room with only mat on the floor. A t.v., a/c, and private bathroom are available though.
